First Meeting after Club Rally

For those of you who are new to ABC, we were founded last winter as a 100% discussion based club.  Some of our discussion topics last year included Apple’s marketing, Amazon Echo vs Google Home, the electric car market, and marketing a new product in a grocery store. We meet weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM and our meetings typically last 30 minutes.  We will meet tomorrow @6:30 PM in SAMPHIL room 102 in the history department wing. 

For those of you who are new to ABC, we have already had a couple of meetings this term and we have moved away from discussion this term to work on a startup called BLUBOXES, which you may have seen in the Weekender.  We envision BLUBOXES as the next on-campus delivery service and tomorrow, we will review the data from the survey sent out through the Weekender this past weekend and prepare an email presenting this data to Mr. Alonso, the CFO of Andover. We will then have other people do research for top hitting items from the survey so we can begin to work out pricing.

My hope is for ABC to continue being an inclusive community of people who have an interest in business, startups, and strategy.  That being said, I want to welcome you to ABC regardless of how much experience/knowledge you have in the field. As the President of ABC and I’m sure the rest of the board will agree with me on this, we want to learn from you as much as you want to learn from us. So bring your ideas, your friends, and your computer to SamPhil 102 tomorrow at 6:30.

2022 Update

Hello Everyone! I am thrilled to share that the club remains in excellent shape, and our future prospects are as strong as ever. Below you will find a summary of the club's activity and accomplishments thus far this year. MEETINGS: Since the start of the year, ABC has continued to hold weekly meetings where we discuss business and current events. We have had consistent, solid attendance: on top of our eight-person board, our meetings also tend to attract around a dozen non-board-members. Advertising & Branding

 Another great ABC meeting this week! We had a great meeting about advertising and branding, focusing specifically on a few different case studies and topics. We had engaging discussions around the strength & usefulness of branding, relating to Apple, Starbucks, Supreme, Amazon, Facebook, and other social media companies.  We started our discussion talking about phrases that make a company so popular. Phrases such as "Netflix and chill" or Nike's "just do it" are what we centered the conversation around. These phrases are exactly how a company gets free advertising and creates brand exposure. They allow people to learn and remember a company. We then moved on to how brands built continuity and trust through branding and advertising.
